Creole Dance

This workshop of Creole dance supports the development of cognitive, physical and motor skills. Students enjoy learning new movements and choreographies while exploring their creativity and leadership abilities. While based on the traditions of Haiti, this highly participatory and interactive workshop reveals that the French Creole culture embodies multiculturalism and diversity.

Marie-Paule Jean-Gilles is a Canadian dancer of Haitian background. Her artistic voyage began as a student in Montreal and she has become an experienced performer and teacher of all ages. She is passionate about her art, which includes a repertoire of dance from Brazilian, Latin, Arab and French Creole traditions.
